About Nancy Kolo, MS, LMFT, LPC, RPTS

I have a Masters degree in Counseling and Mental Health and I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (MFT 27901).  I am a Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor (RPTS S522). I have Secondary and Junior College Teaching Credentials in Mathematics and Psychology.  I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 25 years.

Through the years, I have worked with individuals, couples and families in a variety of treatment settings, including private practice, domestic violence agency, child advocacy/adoption agency,   government facility, and schools.

I have treated clients striving to increase their personal satisfaction and quality of life, to those struggling with grief/loss,  to suicidal/homicidal thoughts and behaviors, and to abuse and trauma. Most have entered therapy to deal with grief/loss, depression, anxiety, fear, and life transitions.

I have presented numerous workshops helping administrators and teachers understand and work with difficult students and with staff conflicts.

I have worked with children and parents in the foster/adopt communities.  I have facilitated parent groups for those struggling with the complications of adoption.

I have additional trainings in Trauma, Attachment, Grief/Loss, DBT, Internal Family Systems, and for the LGBTQIA+ population.

I will listen intently and compassionately. I will work with a variety of techniques and strategies that fit your style and preferences. I will provide alternative perspectives for you to consider. Together, we will build upon your strengths and new insights and strategies to help you achieve your goals.
